Palmtree Foundation - U.K. is a registered U.K. Charity.
Although there is a need for a fixed Dental
Clinic in the Marrakech area; Palm Tree Foundation UK feel
there is much more of an urgent and immediate need in the
more rural and remote areas of Morocco. Palm Tree Foundation
– U.K. have therefore decided to make this the top priority
by taking Dental Services into these areas - in identified
areas of need.
The Foundation is now in a position to send to Morocco a
fully equipped Mobile Dental Surgery. The Mobile Surgery will
under the direct responsibility of the Mayor of Marrakech.
The Trustees request that The Mobile Surgery be parked in
a safe environment and volunteer dentists from the U.K. will
work from there for free and return back to Marrakech at the
end of the day.
All treatment undertaken within the mobile facility will
be provided free for the poor people in the area - within
the Moroccan legal requirements. Maitre Khalid Fataoui (Lawyer)
has kindly offered his services for free to ensure that this
Charitable Act by our British Registered Charity undertakes
all its activity in Morocco within the Moroccan Law and with
the permission and approval of the Moroccan Ministry of Health.

The Office of the Mayor of Marrakech has
indicated that they will take full responsibility of the mobile
clinic. They will get it cleared through Casablanca customs
and transport the Mobile Unit from Casablanca to the Bab Atlas
area of Marrakech. The Unit will be housed within an existing
secure a compound where there is electricity, water and security.
The Office has also indicated that they have the budget and
there is funding available for dental materials, disposable
products, maintenance of the unit and staffing. They will
also be able to offer administrative services prior to the
volunteer British Dentists going out there and whilst they
are working within the unit.
